Beyond the Taylor Frame: Options for Accessible Reading and Writing in Math (Batch – 2)

Vision Empower team is curating workshops to empower teachers with practical approaches to teaching Mathematics to learners with visual impairment.
These workshops are designed for teachers, special educators, parents, and tutors working with students with visual impairment.
Broadly, participants can expect some or all of the following components:

  • An understanding of WHY reading and writing skills matter in Math
  • How to CHOOSE between Taylor Frame Abacus or Nemeth or Computer etc. ?
  • What Literacy EXPECTATIONS can you have from your student in Math class?
  • About spatial Math and rough work
  • Experiencing the Nemeth Braille Code – A brief intro and hands-on practice for some of the symbols
  • Experiencing accessible writing of Math-on-Computer – A brief intro and hands-on practice for some of the symbols
  • Teaching models and learner prerequisites for imparting these skills
