Did you know that India is home to one-third of the world’s blind population
?
....and did you also know that children with blindness in India are not allowed to study Science and Mathematics in high school ?
So, let’s not even talk about STEM subjects for students with visual impairment in college and university education.
Children with visual impairment are mostly sent to residential schools – largely charitable homes - by their parents who have no idea how to deal with their challenges.
These children do not read Braille script at a grade appropriate level in any language and do not have access to story books.
And yes, we are in 2026! Should we still wait and watch or do something about it?
And, if you are wondering whether children with blindness are capable of STEM studies, read more about VE founder, Vidhya Y and her spectacular achievements.
We create joyful learning experiences for children on foundational numeracy, literacy, science and digital literacy.
