Wipro Earthian Awards 2025–26

The 15th edition of the Wipro Earthian Awards (2025–2026) was held at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, from 28–31 January 2026, bringing together 25 outstanding schools from across India committed to sustainability education. Selected from over 2,000 submissions, the winning teams were recognised for innovative projects on biodiversity, water, and waste. In a historic milestone, Louis Braille School became the first visually impaired (VI) school to win the Earthian Award.

On the 29 January, students went on an educational visit to the Birds of Paradise Foundation, Bangalore as a gesture of recognition for the students’ achievement and as an opportunity to further enrich their learning to conservation work and biodiversity awareness. The students enjoyed close proximity to animals like Birds, Snakes, etc. and they ended their visit with a short trip to Cubbon Park before heading back to the Azim Premji Campus.

On 30 January, Vision Empower was honored to be part of the launch of the Accessible Earthian Biodiversity and Water Booklets for visually impaired students. Monica Fatogun, Programme Manager – Accessible Earthian, and Supriya Dey, Managing Trustee, Vision Empower, shared insights on the journey of making the Earthian programme accessible and inclusive.

The awards ceremony on 31 January featured Anurag Behar, Chief Executive Officer, Azim Premji Foundation, and Narayan P. S., Global Head of Sustainability and Societal Initiatives, Wipro Limited, and Managing Trustee, Wipro Foundation, who presented awards to the winning teams, reaffirming the importance of learning rooted in environmental responsibility. The event concluded with an interactive student exhibition and an inspiring talk by Dr. Ravi Chellam, a seasoned wildlife Biologist on his two decades of work with Asiatic lions, sparking curiosity and meaningful engagement among students.

The success of the first visually impaired school at Earthian marks a significant step towards inclusive sustainability education and sets a strong precedent for continued participation of other VI schools in the years ahead.
