6th Conference on Computation thinking in schools – CTiS2024

When a vision is presented to the world, the ideology becomes more real and surreal.
The VE team participated in the 6th Conference on Computational Thinking in Schools (CTiS 2024) conference conducted on the 5th and 6th of July 2024 at IISER, Pune which was hosted by GGIS School, Pune and SCTR’s PICT ACM Student Chapter (PASC). The conference was participated by 350+ teachers, educators, and researchers to discuss issues of curriculum, pedagogy, policy and implementation, related to bringing computational thinking to schools.
Our proud moment: At the conference, 70+ research papers were showcased out of which 9 research papers were from VE which received a lot of appreciation.

In 2 days of CTis 2024, there was a continuous showcase of various research papers presented by teachers from govt schools & primary schools, educators, and researchers who gave new insights on various topics like ‘The use of AI in Education’, ‘Evils of interfaces like Chat GPT, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of computational thinking educational activities conducted in various schools across India. These presentations showcased how teachers can enhance their teaching through research-oriented thinking and practical application among students with exemplary models, etc.

Apart from the research papers, the VE team, including the teachers and the volunteers displayed Computational Thinking game setups designed for students which could help streamline the students day to day activities. These setups were demonstrated to the other participants who observed, studied, and interacted with these setups and were in awe of them.
CTis 2024 brought in a lot of learnings and will be charted as a successful showcase of our efforts in VE’s history.
