Assistive Technologies – Strengthening Accessibility Through A4I Tech Project

December 19, 2025

Assistive Technologies (ATs) are powerful enablers, and Vision Empower continues to collaborate with technology, research, content, and CSR partners to expand access to meaningful AT solutions.

In March 2025, an exclusive horizontal team was formed under the Microsoft CSR and IIIT-B partnership to strengthen L1 support, preventive maintenance, device repair, and program implementation across regions.

Key highlights of the year include:

1. Device Training & Repairs – 2 Batches Completed

In partnership with Vembi Technologies, two batches of VE’s technical team completed hands-on training in device repair and troubleshooting. Equipped with repair kits and new skills, the team successfully restored 235 assistive devices, including Hexis, Iris, and Antara — ensuring uninterrupted learning for students.

2. AT at CTiS 2025 – IISER Pune (Feb 2025)

Computational Thinking games integrated with the IRIS device showcased accessible innovation at the CTiS community event.

3. Supporting Braille Literacy – Independence Day Reading Initiative (Aug 15, 2025)

Under the A4I Project, students nationwide accessed curated multilingual content on Hexis, celebrating scientists, women leaders, and freedom fighters.
Over 40 videos of students reading the content were received from across India.

The A4I Tech Project Team continues to advance accessibility, inclusion, and learning — ensuring AT reaches those who need it most.
