EMPOWER Assistive Technology Conference

Vision Empower (VE) participated in the ‘EMPOWER Assistive Technology Conference’ conducted by the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) from 28th to 30th October 2021. EMPOWER 2021 brought together different stakeholders in the Assistive Technology (AT) sector, including researchers, practitioners in the government and industry, people with disabilities, disabled people organizations, special educators, inclusive designers, entrepreneurs as well as policymakers to discuss issues around the creation, production and dissemination of AT solutions.

The children from various schools that Vision Empower works with sang a song of hope on 29th October to kick start the second day of the conference.

Vidhya Y, the co-founder of Vision Empower also sang a prayer song and lit the lamp in the invocation ceremony on 29th October. Vidhya also gave a talk on the inclusivity of STEM education in the discussion “Assistive Technology in the Global South” on 29th October at 7 pm.

The VE team attended different talks and sessions to widen their sphere of knowledge about accessibility through Assistive Technology.
