31 teachers from 27 special schools of Odisha participated in the training comprised of experiential sessions on STEM topics using VE’s teaching methodologies. They learnt to play and conduct VICT (Computational Thinking for Visually Impaired) games such as card games, board games and pebble games.
The prime focus during the training was Hexis- the refreshable braille device. Informative hands-on sessions were conducted on all three days for the same. Along with this, the teachers also were introduced to VE’s Digital Literacy interventions and equipped to use Subodha- VE’s accessible Learning Management System.
The IIC centre started by the Odisha government in collaboration with VE was well equipped with VE’s accessible STEM materials and was appreciated by all dignitaries and teachers.
The teachers found the training beneficial and expressed their interest in more such trainings by VE. For many of them, it was their first time attending such a training where they learnt teaching concepts using accessible materials and methodologies.
