Inauguration of VE’s First Accessible Science Lab in Tamil Nadu

On 25th November 2025, Vision Empower inaugurated its first Accessible Science Lab in Tamil Nadu at St. Amalarakkini Higher Secondary School for the Visually Impaired, Thiruvannamalai, supported by Cognizant Foundation India under the STEAM4ALL Project.

The lab aims to inspire visually impaired students to pursue STEM by providing adapted and accessible science equipment, enabling hands-on experimentation and deeper conceptual understanding.

The inauguration was graced by Mrs. Malathi B.A. (DDAWO),
Mr. Edwin Moses (Associate Director – Programs, Cognizant Foundation), the VE team, school leaders, teachers, and students.

Students proudly demonstrated STEM activities and math experiments using adapted equipment, showcasing curiosity, confidence, and a strong desire to explore.

The Accessible Science Lab marks a significant step toward ensuring equal learning opportunities and cultivating future STEM pathways for visually impaired learners.
