Learning Numeracy through Play Workshop Program

Day 1 – 27th July 2021

Fifty teachers from schools across Tamil Nadu attended the Day 1 Pragya training. The inaugural program showcased the activities of NIEPVD and VE and the motivation to collaborate and reach as many teachers and students with visual impairment in the state. Dr Sreepriya expressed her gratitude and welcomed all the participants and honorable guests. Shri Tagore highlighted the VIEPVD portfolio and joint activities with VE. Vidhya Y spoke about the interventions of Vision Empower and welcomed the participants to the three days of shared learning and fun. Dr Manohar and Sylvia spoke about the project VICT, the importance of play in the intellectual development of a child to help them to make their decisions, choose their career paths and lead independent lives. The educational co-ordinators conducted six parallel sessions for the teachers filled with Computational Thinking games and explained the learning outcomes of the games. They were ably assisted by the volunteer translators for Tamil in three sessions.
