Pragya Teacher Training in Uttarakhand

Vision Empower in collaboration with Samgra Shiksha, Government of Uttarakhand, conducted a 3-day Pragya Teacher Training Workshop from 25th to 27th September 2023.

This was the first ever Pragya conducted for all the 29 government special educators and 13 district coordinators of Uttarakhand.

Day 1 started with the inauguration of the Training Session along with a detailed introduction to Vision Empower and our interventions. The teachers got to know about the various pedagogies and frameworks we use to make STEM education accessible for children with visual impairment.

Day 2 and Day 3 focused on first understanding the existing content and methods the special educators use to teach children with visual impairment in their respective schools. This was followed by introducing the teachers to our experiential learning approach through science demonstrations and geometry activities.

The teachers were also made familiar with the accessible VICT games and enjoyed playing various board & pebble games. They were also given hands-on training on VE’s accessible Learning Management System- Subodha and Hexis- the refreshable braille reader.

The three-day training concluded with a feedback session and an open discussion on the scope of work for the coming year.
