Curious Minds 2025:
Inclusive STEM Learning

Vision Empower, along with partner organisations, organised Curious Minds 2025, a two-day inclusive STEM event held on 8–9 November 2025 at VITM, Bengaluru.

The event brought together over 150 visually impaired students, teachers, and facilitators from multiple states for experiential learning in Science and Mathematics. Teachers engaged with tactile teaching-learning materials and inclusive pedagogy sessions, while students participated in hands-on workshops, accessible museum visits, and sensory-based activities.

A key highlight was the student-led STEM exhibition featuring 40+ demonstrations across core science concepts using accessible models and experiments. The event reinforced the importance of collaboration in advancing inclusive STEM education and showcased the creativity and potential of visually impaired learners.

Vision 30

Vision 30, an initiative by Vision Empower in partnership with I-Stem, supports promising blind and low-vision students from across India. The programme focuses on academic excellence, confidence, independence, and leadership, enabling students to emerge as role models within their communities.

The first residential learning camp was held in December 2024 at RKM Blind Boys’ Academy, Kolkata, with 18 students from 5 states. Building on this, the second edition in December 2025 involved a national selection process across 13 schools, with 17 students attending an intensive learning camp at IIT Bengaluru.

Vision 30 continues to grow with a long-term focus on expanding access to advanced learning, mentorship, and opportunities for students with visual impairments.

EMPOWER 2025

Vision Empower participated in EMPOWER 2025, held from 3–5 October 2025, by hosting an exhibition stall showcasing the Accessible Resource Centre and key educational interventions. The team demonstrated Hexis, IRIS, CT games, and MathPad, engaging visitors in discussions on accessible learning and assistive technologies.

The stall received around 60–70 visitors, including educators, researchers, and practitioners. Team members also attended conference sessions, strengthening knowledge exchange, visibility, and sectoral collaboration.

AI for Inclusion An Agentic Pathway Towards Innovation and Impact

Vision Empower participated in the AI for Inclusion symposium, an official curtain-raiser to the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi. Representing Vision Empower as the domain partner for the A4I initiative, Vidhya Y, Co-founder, Vision Empower, shared insights on the challenges and opportunities of integrating AI into STEM education for students with visual impairments.

Hosted by Ikigai Law, the event brought together leaders from the Ministry of Education, Microsoft, and the broader ecosystem.

Introducing AI Learning Solutions to Banking Professionals

The 2-Day National Conference-cum-Leadership Workshop on Inclusive Banking for Persons with Disabilities, organised by the Visually Impaired Bank Employees Welfare Association (VIBEWA) at IIIT-Bangalore on 14–15 February 2026, brought together visually impaired banking professionals from across India, including senior and leadership participants. During the event, Vision Empower, in collaboration with Vembi Technologies, showcased accessible Computational Thinking games, STEM resources and assistive technology solutions. The stall generated strong interest among senior banking professionals and participants, many of whom appreciated the innovation and reflected on the importance of such resources during early education. Participants also visited Vision Empower’s Accessible Resource Centre at IIIT-Bangalore to explore the accessible learning resources and programmes housed there.

Exploring AI for Accessibility and Impact

At the Microsoft Asia CELA Embassy AI for Good Retreat in Bangkok, the Vision Empower team shared how AI is being explored to strengthen accessibility, learning tools, and internal workflows.

The team demonstrated Agentic AI integrations that support assistive technologies and inclusive learning experiences for children with visual impairments. Vidhya Y, Co-founder of Vision Empower, participated in the AI Diffusion panel and spoke about the importance of building Universal Design into technology from the beginning.

For Vision Empower, AI is not just a tool. It is an opportunity to strengthen accessible learning, support educators, and create meaningful opportunities for children with visual impairments.

Inclusion Dialogue Series

As part of its commitment to advancing accessibility beyond programme implementation, Vision Empower launched The Inclusion Dialogue, a knowledge-sharing platform that brings together leaders, practitioners, and organisations from the disability inclusion ecosystem.

The inaugural session, From Classrooms to Campuses to Communities, explored pathways that support persons with visual impairments across different stages of learning and life. Featuring leaders from Vision Empower, Spandan,and CSpathshala, the discussion highlighted accessible education, teacher capacity building, higher education opportunities, independent living, and community support systems.

The session attracted over 80 online participants, reflecting strong interest in collaborative learning and dialogue around inclusive education and disability inclusion.
