From October 10 to 11, 2025, members of the Vision Empower team participated in a two-day Tactile Image Creation Workshop hosted by the Mathruchhaya Foundation at their centre in Banashankari, Bengaluru. The workshop was designed to enhance participants’ skills in designing and producing tactile learning materials for children with visual impairments. The Mathruchhaya team introduced two of their key groups, Team Syllabus Oriented and Team Navilugari (GK), who shared their innovative approaches to creating subject-specific and general knowledge tactile diagrams. On the first day, the VE team created tactile diagrams illustrating the Leaf Structure and the Human Excretory System. The second day focused on mapping skills, with participants working on tactile representations of the Karnataka State Map and the Globe, including key geographic concepts such as latitudes and longitudes. The workshop offered valuable hands-on experience, encouraging creativity, attention to detail, and teamwork. It also further strengthened the collaboration between Vision Empower and Mathruchhaya Foundation in their shared commitment to accessible and inclusive education through tactile learning resources.
