The Inclusion Dialogue: From Classrooms to Campuses to Communities

March 23, 2026

Vision Empower recently launched The Inclusion Dialogue, a series that brings together voices across accessibility and inclusion to share perspectives and learn from organisations, practitioners and diverse stakeholders.

The first session, “From Classrooms to Campuses to Communities,” explored inclusion as a journey—from school education to higher education, and into communities.

Featuring Sylvia Veeraraghavan (Vision Empower), Sonia Garcha (CSpathshala), and Neha Trivedi (Spandan), the discussion highlighted what it takes to build inclusive education systems for persons with disabilities, especially those with visual impairment.

Key Insights

• Inclusion is not just about access, but meaningful participation
• The biggest gap lies in implementation despite existing policies
• Teachers play a central role in enabling inclusive classrooms
• Mindset shifts are critical to moving from limitation to capability
• Inclusion must be built into systems from the start
• The focus must move from access to empowerment

Moving Forward

Inclusion is a continuous process that requires shifts in mindset, systems, and practice. Through The Inclusion Dialogue, Vision Empower aims to build a space for ongoing reflection, learning, and collaboration.
