VE at EMPOWER 2022

Vision Empower participated in the fifth EMPOWER Conference conducted by IIIT-Bangalore at IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai from the 13th to the 15th of October 2022.

The conference witnessed various stakeholders in the assistive technology sector, including researchers, organizations, industries and policymakers coming together to create and share ‘Assistive Technology Solutions.

VE Team Members attended Bob Marek’s workshop on tactile graphics. Sylvia Veeraraghaven, VE’s Programme Director along with Aishwarya Othena, Salient Contributor at VE presented a paper on ‘Design development and manufacture of Junior Braille Playing cards’ as part of the presentations on Tactile Solutions.

Shiladitya Datta, VE’s Hexis- Braille Reader Specialist also presented a paper on ‘Deploying the Hexis-Antara solution from Vembi Technologies’.

A group of students mentored by VE’s Co-Founder Supriya Dey won the award for creating accessible technology solutions as part of the Student Design Challenge at EMPOWER 2022.
