VE conducts its first Pragya Teacher Training in West Bengal

The first Pragya Teacher Training program, organized by Vision Empower (VE) in West Bengal, took place from August 10th to 12th, 2023. It brought together 32 teachers from 9 special schools.

The training focused on helping teachers understand the difficulties they face while teaching Science and Mathematics. They were shown various frameworks like Expanded Core Curriculum, Universal Design for Learning, and the 5 Es (Engage, Explore, Expand, Explain, and Evaluate) to help create an inclusive and effective teaching and learning process in the classroom. Through practical examples using Teacher Instruction Kits and Concept Modules, along with introducing the Hexis – Antara solution and Computational Thinking games, teachers gained valuable tools to support visually impaired students. The training also aimed to build a community of practice by forming online groups where participants can communicate, exchange ideas, and support each other.

Vision Empower is thankful to the Government of West Bengal for their support and extends special gratitude to RKM Blind Boys Academy for hosting and collaborating on this event.
