Vision 30
Vision Empower, in collaboration with I-Stem and RKM BBA, launched the pilot of Vision 30, a program aimed at identifying, inspiring, and supporting promising high school students with visual impairments from across India. This initiative focuses on empowering students to achieve academic excellence and gain admission to top colleges through training that promotes confidence, independence, and social integration. The 2.5-day residential learning camp, held from December 27-29, 2024, at the Blind Boys’ Academy, Narendrapur, Kolkata, brought together 18 visually impaired students nominated by their schools.

The camp provided a nurturing environment for students to explore STEM concepts and career opportunities. The curriculum, incorporating health, environment, and technology themes, featured experiential learning activities such as career discovery sessions, psychological safety workshops, group presentations on life sciences and mathematics, and hands-on experiences at the Birla Industrial & Technological Museum. Students were also introduced to software programming, mentored by Kartik Sawhney, founder of I-STEM.

The camp was an enriching experience, offering students exposure to new learning methods and helping them reflect on their aspirations. Teachers and caregivers praised it as an excellent platform to guide students toward future academic and career goals. The initiative also provided valuable insights for the Vision Empower and I-Stem teams, informing future program planning.
