Vision Empower at EMPOWER 2024

Vision Empower recently participated in Empower 2024, held from October 17-19 at the National Institute of Speech & Hearing (NISH) in Thiruvananthapuram. This dynamic event brought together users, experts, innovators, and advocates in Assistive Technology, fostering an environment ripe for collaboration and empowerment.

On Day 2, our Co-Founder, Vidhya Y, delivered a compelling talk on Artificial Intelligence and Assistive Technology, sharing valuable insights from our experience with the latest AI tools that enhance accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Vidhya also contributed as a panelist in the interactive session titled “AI & AT: Live Experiences and Aspirations,” where she engaged with other thought leaders on the future of assistive technologies.
Throughout the three days of the conference, Vision Empower actively engaged with various participants, discussing the design and implementation of assistive technologies for the visually impaired. Our Regional Manager, Rajeswari Pandurangan, presented a poster, while Regional Manager Devi Dutta and accessibility consultant Venkatesh Deshpande showcased their research through paper presentations, further contributing to the discourse on assistive solutions.

Overall, EMPOWER 2024 was an enriching experience for the Vision Empower team. It allowed us to connect with key stakeholders in the assistive technology ecosystem and engage in meaningful conversations about the critical need for awareness, advocacy, and partnerships. We are eager to follow up with the individuals and organizations we met, working together to enhance our initiatives and better serve our beneficiaries. The insights and connections gained from this event will undoubtedly strengthen our commitment to promoting accessibility and improving the lives of those we aim to support.
