Accessibility needs attention, conversation and practical solutions. EMPOWER 2026, the Annual Assistive Technology Conference, held at IIT Delhi from October 2 – 4, brought together people and ideas to advance accessibility and inclusion.
Vision Empower participated in this event alongside its partners, IIIT Bangalore and Vembi Technologies, sharing approaches that make STEM education more accessible for students with visual impairments.

Showcasing Shared Accessible Spaces
At EMPOWER 2026, we showcased our Shared Accessible Spaces—Accessible Resource Centres, Accessible Science Labs and Nature Corners—along with assistive technologies and approaches that make hands-on learning more accessible and engaging for students with visual impairments.
Our stall welcomed researchers, technology experts, disability-sector professionals and innovators. Their questions, perspectives and insights opened up new possibilities for collaboration and for extending the reach of accessible learning.
Sharing Ideas for Inclusive STEM Learning
One of our colleagues presented a paper that was warmly received for its focus on foundational skills, joyful learning and a hands-on mathematics game designed to develop computational thinking skills. The presentation explored adaptations that make learning more engaging and accessible.

Exploring Assistive Technology with Vembi Technologies
Vembi Technologies showcased assistive technologies, including Hexis and IRIS. The new keyboard-integrated Hexis attracted particular interest and sparked conversations about accessible digital learning and opportunities for students with visual impairments to engage more independently with technology.
We brought classroom experiences and practical approaches to EMPOWER 2026 and returned with fresh ideas, valuable connections and renewed opportunities to help more students explore, participate and learn.
