December 3, 2025

The SSEPD Department hosted a three-day event at SOA University, Bhubaneswar, to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, inaugurated by SSEPD Minister Shri Nityananda Gond.

Vision Empower participated in the event with a dedicated stall showcasing STEM learning materials, Computational Thinking resources, and Assistive Technology tools designed for students with visual impairment.

On Day 1, Shri Nityananda Gond and Shri Babu Singh, MLA Bhubaneswar, visited the VE stall and actively engaged in hands-on demonstrations with accessible science materials, creating a highly interactive experience.

On Day 2, the VE Odisha team was invited to the State-Level Conference on “Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress.” The team interacted with Shri Taha Haaziq, Secretary, Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Goa. Later, SSEPD officials visited the stall, shared positive feedback, and added warmth to the moment by singing together—creating a memorable and joyful interaction.

The stall drew wide interest from students with visual impairment, hearing impairment, and intellectual disabilities, along with teachers, school administrators, NGOs, and institutional representatives. Some MR students even sang near the stall, adding vibrancy to the space.

On the final day, the VE team attended a state-level conference chaired by Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, SSEPD Minister Shri Nityananda Gond, and Commissioner R.S. Gopalan.
The Odisha team felt honoured to be invited to participate in this significant celebration of inclusion.
