Vision Empower Joins Global Experts to Shape G20 Policies for Inclusive Education and Disability Rights

Vision Empower (VE) was invited to be a part of the policy discussion organised by Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged along with Rising Flame and Mariwala Health Initiative on the theme of Education and Disability as a part of the Disability, Equity and Justice Working Group under the C-20 banner. VE co-founders Vidhya Y & Supriya Dey along with experts from around the globe in the field of education for persons with disabilities contributed to the robust policy brief that will guide the commitments of the G20 Leaders.

Vidhya & Supriya shared about the barriers to the inclusion of persons with blindness in STEM in India and the work VE is doing to bridge those gaps. They highlighted the multifold approach VE follows in carrying its interventions through School Engagement that involves working closely with special schools, teachers and students. They also shared about the research VE does alongside academic partners and policymakers in creating different programmes to address the needs of inclusive education. Lastly, they shared the impact VE is creating in the realm of inclusive education as well as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
