Vision Empower Workshop at Kerala Federation of the Blind Teacher Training Centre in Palakkad

On March 13, 2025, Vision Empower conducted a workshop at the Kerala Federation of the Blind Teacher Training Centre in Palakkad. The goal was to introduce D.Ed (Visually Impaired) students to Vision Empower’s STEM education initiatives and provide demonstrations of the assistive devices that VE supplies to schools.

The workshop included:

  • An overview of Vision Empower’s mission and STEM approach
  • Hands-on demonstrations of VE’s assistive devices for inclusive education
  • Practical sessions on using STEM materials designed for visually impaired students
  • Guidance on integrating technology and assistive tools into classroom teaching

Participants appreciated the hands-on learning and found the workshop highly relevant to their teaching careers. They recommended holding more such sessions to offer ongoing support for educators of visually impaired students.

“The workshop was extremely informative and beneficial. As D.Ed students, we wish we had attended it before our teaching practice, it would have significantly enhanced our science and math teaching skills.
During school visits, we saw engaging materials but lacked the know, how to use them effectively. This workshop filled that gap, offering practical insights on creating interactive and immersive lessons.
We are grateful to Vision Empower for this opportunity, which has given us fresh ideas to make our classes more engaging and impactful. Thank you for an invaluable session!”
