Volunteers from CSGI create Tactile Game Boards for Children with Visual Impairment

On March 13th, 2024, 46 employees at the CSGI corporate office in Bengaluru, Karnataka, volunteered to create tactile game boards from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. The event began with a brief introduction to Vision Empower. Then, an icebreaker game was played, and a video was screened featuring Vision Empower’s journey in making education inclusive for children with visual impairment. The VE team presented Project VICT (Computational Thinking for Visually Impairment), a VE intervention that uses games to teach numeracy and computational thinking skills to visually impaired students through play, using the LDA Approach.

Next, the volunteers were shown a demonstration of creating tactile Sudoku boards. Each volunteer then replicated these boards, completing one each. The tactile sudoku game boards will be distributed to special schools across the country that VE works with. The event concluded on a positive note, with volunteers expressing their satisfaction and eagerness to engage further with Vision Empower.
We are grateful to the CSGI volunteers for contributing towards the cause of inclusive education and supporting VE in its mission of making STEM education accessible for children with visual impairment in India.
